Electrolytic Business Update

On Friday, August 31, Tronox finalized the saleof its Electrolytic business to EMD Acquisition LLC (EMD), doing business as Borman Speciality Materials, effective September1, 2018. Tronox CEO Jeff Quinn sent the following letter to employees:

I would like to recognize the employees of Henderson for their continued focus on the sale operations of the site, and thank them for their patience as we worked through the details of the transaction.

EMD’s investment in the business is good forHenderson and shows its commitment to the long-term success of the site, and I am confident the employees of Henderson will continue to set high expectations for the future. I realize there will be questions as the integration takes place and the leaders of the site and of EMD will be diligently working to communicate their plans and expectations over the next several days.

I wish our Henderson colleagues and the business the best in the future, and appreciate the contributions made to Tronox over the years.
